It's been such a long time since I have posted anything here, Life and all it's Craziness has made sure my time was not spent in my Crafty Attic as much as I would like to....
As of late, I have been really into Mixed Media and trying new techniques, so this time I took it a step further and started playing in my Watercolour Art Journal. I made this book a long time ago using Watercolour paper in order to start experimenting with the different mediums like acrylics, watercolours, chalks and all sorts.... What I love about this book is that it lays flat, allowing me to work comfortably in it, regardless of the type of layering...
So my first layer was paper and collaging different scraps of paper I had lying about. Then I toned them all down with white Gesso and let it all dry. I used a mix of Vinyl glue with a touch of water for adhering the paper on my pages. I don't have Matte Medium, which is far better, but in the future I'm planning to invest in it...
Then once my Gesso was dry, I did some stenciling using my Decoart Medium Gel, which I love for its versatility. I then let some very watered down acrylic slide down from the top of my pages and let that dry overnight. Today I went on top of the raised areas with some chalk and gold hued acrylics, stenciled some butterflies with my favourite chalk ink and finally glued on my handmade hearts, all made with paper scraps inspired by my favourite @ShanoukiArt.
I then glued on my quote, something that means a lot to me, as it is important for me to always figure things out.....
It is a remedy to everything happening around us, I love how it turned out and it is only part of so much happening in my head...
